My profile is available on Facebook. Generally, immediately after High School, I became gainfully employed by Servomation (an automatic food vending company) while also attending MCCC, later graduating with a AAS Degree in Business Administration. College credits were transfered to Kutztown State Teachers College (KU), graduated with a BS Degree in Secondary Education, concentration Sociology. Taught one year in Savanah Georga then returned to Kutztown where I substituted at Kutztown Area HS. I later taught Painting & Decorating in the Berks County Vo Tech School and developed initial curriculum for the shop class. Unhappy with the confinement of a classroom, I became a Co-Op Employer in cooperation with the Vo. Tech Schools. I started a home restoration business, employing many dozens of students. We restored more than 100 homes, maintained many buildings at KU and also maintained 32 Arby's, church steeples, hospitals, offices, US Post Offices, etc. Simultaneously, I built a student & family rental housing business. During a 35 year period I housed more then 1000 university students and families. I enjoyed many years as a Kutztown Rotarian and also served as our club president. I was married 27 years to a wonderful woman who departed in 2007. In 2011 I chose to pursue a nomadic lifestyle and have continued to travel extensively while photographing wildlife, people and my travels. Some photos can be seen on my Facebook. Your welcome to follow the adventure. My current residence is on Smith Mountain Lake Virginia (Spring & Fall), Dade City Florida (Winter), I travel extensively (Summers).

During the first 12 years of retirement I've trained and become a certified EMT specializing in wilderness rescue, learned to operate the Behringer X-32 digital soundboard, serve as a proofreader & treasurer for the TR Times Newspaper, extensively traveled into the Canadian Maritime Providences, Yukon Territory, Alaska, 48 States, Copper Canyon & many cities in Mexico and plan to spend the summer of 2023 in Newfoundland, returning to Florida by November.

School Story:

At this point in life's journey, admittedly I recall very little about my years in public school. Two recollections due come to mind. The first is from Lincoln elementary school. In Mrs Shiliday's kindergarten we had a plastic birthday cake with candles. Debbie Rumford shared the same June 25/26th birthday celebration as my twin brother, Dave, and me. Well, we were on one side of the cake and Debbie was on the other side of our forceful extermination of the birthday candles. Today I officially apologize, Debbie, for blowing all that candle wax onto your beautiful young face. I truly had no intentions other then what was expected of us. The second recollection was in either my junior or senior year at NHS. The wrestling team was in the final match to take the Suburban North Championship. Tony Baker was not favored to win over his opponent Drayman. Our hero,Tony, had the weight of the whole season's effort on his shoulders. The match was tortuously close right to the end. With waining hope, our hero sank his teeth into Drayman, causing such a loss of concentration and fear in his opponent that Tony walked away with the win and our team won. Way to go Tony! You were da man!

Norristown Memory

During my public school years I had very little interest in formal education. In those days, kids were not identified as being ADD however that clearly should have been evident. If I wasn't in trouble, I was out the window or lingering on my way to or from the lav. Hot cars and motorcycles had my attention most of the time. For several years I fell into the 60's & 70's party thing until a KU professor, Dr Ringer, took time to move me from a lost sole into to the world of academia. He nurtured a life changing encounter with a new reality that has served me well.

I don't recall knowing you at NHS. It sounds like your retirement lifestyle is crazy exciting. I'm not a water person but i also enjoy a crazy fun retirement lifestyle and wouldn't think of trading it for a couch. I've been traveling fulltime for 14 years. Safe travels to you and Herk.

It's amazing that twelve years have sped by while comfortably spending winters in Central Florida and traveling extensively during the summer/fall months. During the winter months I attend aerobic exercise and lift weights-5 days a week, I've trained and volunteer as an EMT at Station 33 of Pasco County Florida, volunteer as a proofreader and QuickBooks Pro accountant at the TR Times Newspaper, and operate a Behringer X32 digital mixer for many weekly events requiring a sound technician and video skills at the resort where I live as a shareholder. We post Youtubes weekly. During the summer months, I have traveled in my 34' Airstream from Florida to Alaska, the Canadian Maratime Providences (PEI, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia) to many areas of Mexico (rural Copper Canyon & major cities). My Facebook documents my excursions and lists many dozens of check-ins from the boyhood home of el Zorro to the House of Green Gables, from GlacierBay to the Bok Estate. With luck, my 2023 travel plans are to sped the summer in Newfoundland.
