Gary R. DelBuono
Gary R. DelBuono, of West Norriton, PA, passed into Heavenly peace at home with his family by his side on February 20, 2026, at the age of 75.
Born on August 16, 1950 in Norristown, PA, to the late Vincent and Elizabeth (nee Antonelli) DelloBuono, Gary was the beloved husband of Arlene (nee Riffitts) DelBuono of more than 50 years; loving father of Gary M. DelBuono (Dana), Heather DelBuono, and cherished grandfather of Chase, Dylan, Sofia, Luciana and Lucas. Gary was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald DelBuono.
Gary grew up in Norristown, PA and graduated from Eisenhower High School’s Class of 1968. He continued his education at Penn State University and graduated from Ursinus College with a degree in Business Administration. He spent almost his entire career at United Stationers where his passion and sales expertise were cultivated. Gary’s charisma and “gift of gab” were two of his most notable characteristics that helped advance his career and left an impact on everyone he came into contact with.
Outside of work, Gary held various positions on the West Norriton Little League Board of Directors as well as coached much of the area youth for a decade. Gary was a key contributor on the field to the success of the famous Norristown area Al’s Cold Cuts softball team in the late 70s and early 80s. The friendships he made during those years were truly special to him as they spent a significant amount of time together, from traveling to far away tournaments to gathering in Al and Sue’s basement after every game.
Gary was an avid golfer, a proud Italian, and a die-hard Philadelphia Eagles fan as a season ticket holder for over 50 years. Gary’s “happy place” was Ocean City, NJ where he loved vacationing every summer with his family and could frequently be found sitting on the beach with his headphones on, listening to the Phillies.
Gary’s most important priority in his life was his family. He and his wife, Arlene, were together for 54 years, including their 51 years of marriage. They traveled to many areas of the country, including Hawaii, but their most loved travel experience was their time in Italy with their friends. Gary’s laughter and sense of humor were some of his most memorable traits. He managed to have nicknames for just about everybody he met, and his Italian family’s Christmas Eve tradition every year was “roasting” everyone in the family in good-natured fun.
Gary was a devoted father, coaching his son in Little League baseball for many years and was in attendance at every one of his daughter’s field hockey games. One of Gary’s favorite joys later in life, was watching his two oldest grandsons’ sporting events. Gary was the beloved “Pop” of all five of his grandchildren who adored him endlessly.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 9 am to 10:20 am at Visitation B.V.M. Church, 190 N. Trooper Road, Trooper, PA 19403 with Mass immediately to follow. Interment will be at Saint Patrick’s Mausoleum after the Mass.
