We all have something of Cathy's on our bookshelves (or stuffed in a box somewhere). Remember the wild cover of our Yearbook. That piece and all the artwork within was created by Cathy. She was a talented artist and gave us all a portfolio of her early work.
I was good friends with Cathy from the time we were 3 years old. We went to Kindergarten together and then rejoined our friendship at Stewart Junior High School in 7th grade and then parted again at HS graduation.
I remember riding around in Cathy's volks wagon (she was always ahead of the times). Cathy always had a good idea to broaden our horizon whether it was an art exhibit or musical venue in Philly. Most importantly we often left the confines of Norristown to find something new. Cathy graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence and married soon after graduation, living in Allentown PA where she was a mom to 2 and an art teacher.
She succumbed to breast cancer in the mid nineties.
Thanks Cathy for sharing your talent with all of us.
